Sadly, this describes half of my grandchildren ( and their father too). Guess I know who taught them.

A friend was her daughter’s driving instructor. The new driver was quite slow and other drivers would honk and frighten her. Mother finally made a sign “new driver, please be patient” and attached it to the back of the car without her daughter’s knowledge. She said the effect was quite amazing. Other drivers would smile and wave instead of honking.

Not his fault. That mailbox came flying through the air after Ed Crankshaft backed into it at top speed.

I taught all three of our kids to drive. Very nerve racking but helped if I looked through the side window and not the windshield! :)

Saw many sad things as a Police Officer. I had to give a young 16 year old girl a ticket who had just passed her driver’s test and had just gotten her license less than 15 minutes prior. While driving home from the DMV, with her mother, she got into an accident that was her fault and while no one was injured, I had to give her a ticket as part of the investigation……

“it came outta nowhere” is undoubtedly what all the grannies and geezers who ram convenience stores here in japan say (after mistaking the gas for the brake pedal in the parking lot)…
