Gotta feel sorry for the Girl Scouts. Compared to the Boy Scouts, they can only be second-best…

We all love those Girl Scout cookies. What a good marketing ploy to have them available only once a year! …and no I’ve tried others which might describe themselves as “chocolate mint” but none taste the same.

All this time, and Poo Poo has never barked at a mailman!?! Usually the small dogs bark the most, and at everything! Small yappy dogs have Napoleonic complexes, and my larger Labradors and (now) Lab-mixes just look at them. I now own a terrier-Lab-mix, and she is a barker. Seriously, my younger brother had a miniature dachshund (after growing up with REAL dachshunds) who attacked my calm, sedate, well mannered black female Labrador. She looked at him, and when he lunged at her, then she growled at him. Because my nephew was an toddler, my mother insisted my Labrador spend Christmas at the Kennel. It was the little Napoleon who attacked! The dogs didn’t even get into it!

When I was a Brownie in College Station, Texas, the cookies cost 35-cents! Now they cost between $4.00 and $6.00 here in Virginia. Then, there were two types, Thin Mints and shortbread, now too many to choose from. The gluten free are the expensive ones. Samoa are the top sellers, according to one of my former colleagues, who was on the local council cookie committee. They go on sale in January, and arrive in February…. Can’t wait!

My neighbor has a small poodle who likes to bark at me. Today the poodle was out in the hard and I had him running up and down the fence line barking at me. This went on for 5 minutes until someone walking their dog caught his attention and he had to go bark at that. Poodle and I got our exercise today!
