For a while I worked as a contract employee. A fellow contractor pointed out some tax benefits that I should take advantage of. Because of this and the fact that I’d be filing taxes for 3 states I let an “expert” do my taxes. I knew I was wasting time and money we I had to explain how per diem worked.

Unless you are self-employed, now you cannot even write off the expense of having someone else do your taxes for you.
