Our slow pitch softball league was very loosely regulated. Each team was required to provide the balls that it pitched, and no umpires checked these balls, so teams were softening them up to the point that Hercules would have trouble driving one out of the infield.

I played slow pitch soft ball until I was 65. I was the pitcher. I stopped playing when a line drive back to pitching circle caught my knee!
