Yah. They’ll get Bannon for defying the subpoena, but not much else. Maybe the year in jail will change his mind if it’s not a Club Fed like Manafort got.

It looks like the lengthly judicial process with all the appeals could stretch out to the time when the Repubs hope to be in control of the Congress in ’22/23. Then they can simply close down the Jan.6th investigation and go back to kissing up to the oligarchs.

Here’s the problem with this cartoon – it shows “something” sawing through the closed coffin lid with a “regular” handsaw with no indication of a hole being drilled or a "keyhole saw being used, initially.

And what pushes it beyond the realm of fantasy is the fact that the hammer is inscribed with Trump’s name – as though Donnie John would have even the tiniest clue as to what such a tool would be used for.

I would theorize that the “party of Law”, has had a meltdown, but that would require the presence of a brain or two. There has been no such evidence.

Not if the “Trumpsters” have any say in it.

Now evangelicals want to depict ‘social justice’ as un-Christian

The problem for evangelicals is that the Bible is quite clear around the issues connected to social justice. Ignoring these issues requires completely ignoring the teachings of Jesus. It is fascinating to me, in a grim way, that the very people who claim to be holding onto the true form of Christian faith are in fact committed to destroying it.

How is it that using the Christian faith to serve the poor, heal the sick and welcome the foreigner is destroying America — in the minds of far too many evangelicals — but manipulating the Christian faith to condemn women as murderers and condemn LGBTQ people to hell is somehow proper Biblical teaching?

These political distortions within the evangelical movement are far advanced, and will be difficult to overcome. I still want people to understand that hateful and judgmental language has nothing to do with the core of Christian faith and everything to do with false evangelical hypocrisy. The truth is that the Christian faith should be used as a shield for the oppressed and a sword against the oppressors. The working poor have been completely ignored by the evangelical movement and it’s time for people of good faith to find themselves some new leaders. Preferably among people who want to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, not the teachings of Donald Trump.

Trump joked and encouraged staffers to feel free to break the law: White House insider

Discussing the number of high-ranking Trump White House staffers who have been subpoenaed by the House committee investigating the Jan 6th insurrection, Grisham said Trump knew they were flaunting the law all along and joked about it.

“I’m very glad that this is happening, and I do hope that it will have, you know, many others who are getting subpoenaed like you said at the beginning, take a step back and realize there’s some consequences here,” she began. “However, my prediction is that the former president is going to tell everybody to continue to stall, they’re going to fund-raise off of this. [Steve] Bannon absolutely I think is going to wear this as a badge of honor and martyr himself almost.”

“You know, this is a very small example compared to what’s going on, but I recall in the White House when we would get Hatch Act violations, that was a badge of honor,” she recalled. “It was a joke in the White House. And you know, the president used to say to us, ‘You know who’s in charge of the Hatch Act? It’s me, go ahead, say whatever you want to say.’”

The Rule of Law isn’t dead yet, only it is under internal attack by a cancer of corruption and terrorism.
