I have actually done that! I hit the teacher (it was a man though) with a paper airplane! My punishment was to make a hundred paper airplanes by the end of the day.
Paper airplanes used to always be failures for me. Until recently. Something clicked about how to fold them and now they fly quite well. So there is always hope!
I still shudder at a memory from 1980, when a female teacher walked into the flight path of a paper arrow (the kind that you launch with one finger from each hand) I had launched at the waste basket in the corner of the room.
I am in India – female teachers in our place used to wear sarees and “blouses” that have an opening that forms a very unfortunate channel at the front below the neck.
My grade school had a paper airplane contest one year – outside. Mine lost after it flew out of sight. The teacher ruled that distance had to be verified, not implied.
Nerwin didn’t follow directions of the teacher. If he had told her about air flight and illustrated his talk with the paper plane, that would be a great report and worthy of an A. Instead, the illustration by itself earns him the corner.

Must be a cartoon time warp somewhere, aren’t schools usually closed for the holiday break?

Their first flight from take off to landing could take place inside the cabin of a 747 and several other aircraft.

This strip reminds me a bit of LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE—where Willie Olsen was always standing in the corner at school.

Here’s a lesson for Nerwin: if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime!
