Coupled with the over-drinking/headache connection to come in a later epoch, it was concluded that God was either cruel, or has quite the wry sense of humor.

I’ve read of an island where the local fruit is a natural contraceptive, so by the time Europeans arrived, the natives didn’t know the sex-pregnancy connection. (My source didn’t indicate whether the tribe was heavily inbred.)

And Republicans* immediately outlawed teaching about the connection — unless the opposite viewpoint was also taught.
