I don’t think a lot of people realize just how much money it takes to give a good education for any grade level, and as a result, no one seems to want to contribute their part towards funding it, yet still seem to expect the schools to somehow make ends meet for that quality education anyway.
Of course, the situation varies from district to district, with some being better off than others (and vice versa), and thus the needed response to the problem likewise varies. But in my experience, most school districts these days, at least in the US, are more often underfunded than overfunded.

actually, the schools are awash in money. Would have had even more if they had quit paying teachers during Covid.
