Panting at the top of the fifth flight is anticipation, not exhaustion. If the lady precedes me, I may need to ascend backwards. As the sweatshirt says “Made in the ’40s, Original and unrestored, some parts in working order” . All the important parts anyway. Hearing isn’t too sharp.
