Stantis hasn’t settled on whether Carmen is a kid — and thus too young to run — or old enough to vote.
Actually one benefit would be to run and see who offers to finance her. Remember the stories of Republican donors backing the Green Party to split that vote.
For reasons I may never understand myself, I listened to all of “The First Family, Volume 2,” by Vaughn Meader, with Booker, Dowd, and the usual suspects. It was, of course, pulled from circulation in November of 1963, but a few got out and made their way to Goodwill record tables, where I believe I found one. I also have the original First Family (the comedy LP most frequently spotted at thrift shops), The Other Family, Welcome to the LBJ Ranch, and probably some others. Oh, yeah: “The Big Walk,” and “The Problem with Teddy” on a 45 by “Jeff Kay” that a deejay gave me when I toured a local radio station with Mom and her Scouts.
Most of the record is just kind of annoying. Jackie talks like Marilyn Monroe. Maybe that was funny, but it just seems lazy now. The kid voices are the sort you want to hear no more than once. The usual trend of a sketch is to build up to the mention of a name that triggers that final-sounding laughter and applause. “Adlai!” HA HA CLAP CLAP CLAP! “Pierre!” HA HA CLAP CLAP CLAP! “Barry!!” HA HA CLAP CLAP CLAP. When they do the sketch about Jack and Jackie in 1996, it reaches the same wistful affect as watching the SNL sketch where Belushi is the last living cast member.
Anyway, it seemed more interesting than whatever was depicted in today’s strip.

They’ve been talking about 3rd parties and more on the podcast lately. It’s on his mind.
