“High standards I set for this company”? You make tea cozies. How high can they be.

When I would hear conversation from the boss like that at my workplace, my level of anxiety would shoot strait up. A horrible feeling!

That sounds ominous.

Speaking of high standards, why is the boss wearing white socks and bedroom slippers to work with a dark suit?

“If you can’t raise the bridge, lower the river.”

that might be taking a step too far, but I sure hope that’s what he’s going for, for your sakes.

Veeblefester wearing spats or Pat Boone shoes? Heaven Forbid. American Standards have been lowered since the 1970’s.

This spells ill for our hero, Brutus. And, that remark of his isn’t going to do him much either. But, boss man can’t afford to lose his whipping boy. Who would take his abuse and keep coming back for more?

Brutus just tell Rancid that he gets what he pays for, so if he wants better performance, he needs to pay him more.

He’s been working there for how many years now? I’d say the standards have been pretty low for some time now.

Not the smartest question to ask; may be the funniest but definitely not the smartest…..

my first boss lowered his standards to hire me and i did everything i could to fulfill his low expectations…
