I can remember as a kid Mom & Dad on rare dinners out would bring steak or chop bones home for the dog. Never brought left over food to eat. That just evolved, I think.
My dog was a picky eaterHe scoffed at fast foodTurned his nose up atGreasy-spoon left overs—- this was a real gourmet pooch… when we got dressed up and went out, he’d be waiting for us by the front door – not to greet us—- just to inspect “Le Doggie baggage”

When I eat out, I usually eat half the food and bring the leftovers home.
