Vitamins are (for the most part) chemicals we take in our diet to overcome a lethal mutation that results in our being unable to create the chemicals ourselves.
I think this would appeal to Hammie.
As for the shape, well that TV show was targeted for adults, so adults may well look kindly on these vitamins.
Note that the tablets in question also typically contain “minerals”, which aren’t about a lethal mutation. They are just other base chemicals we need to ingest.
