Leave it to the cat to get all cerebral about it. Are you having fun or not? That’s all that matters.
As long as they are having fun. I had a cat who spent hours getting the other cat to chase him, without actually starting a fight. It was like a psychological study in ratcheting up annoyance.
My cats loves to go up to a strange dog and say, “Come on, let’s be friends and play a little”! He does not believe in the cat/dog fight thing.
It’s all fun and games until the mouse shows up.
