If it’s that crafty, Calvin should have asked for the insect spray can.

If I remember just after this cartoon was originally published, a toy manufacturer came out with the Nerf baseball bat and ball. It was a bat made out of soft sponges and foam which couldn’t hurt any kid being hit on the head, or in this case destroy any furniture. Apparently it was the big rage to buy at Christmas with the parents.

Why am I reminded of Dagwood Bumstead kicking door-to-door salesmen out of his house??

Always loved seeing Calvin literally thrown out of the house.

I don’t know, I think Mom would react a bit more extremely if a bug were trying to kill Calvin with a bat.

Calvin’s enthusiasm is well meaning but often misdirected.

Like the superhero doing $12 million in damage to stop a $5,000 bank heist.

Calvin must have really large/strong hands to do all that damage with a bat bigger than he is.

Just, HAD, to look that site up. Yup, looney bin ! ( the rest is just, LOONEY ! )

Good thing the bug didn’t land on the tv screen. This strip would have originally appeared back when there were still the old CRT’s. Had he ruptured that sucker and it imploded…

When swatting a fly, one does not use a cannon for the task. Or a bat.

I don’t think he rates Just Below bugs to his mom. I think he is several levels below bugs.

Grabbed a bat and cornered a mouse in our spare room. Instead of running, it crouched down shaking. Then I felt like the evil giant and couldn’t bring myself to hit it. Got some mouse poison instead…OK, I’m not that nice.

You know you’re annoying when even your parents literally throw you out of the house.

It’s a good thing Hobbs isn’t real because he probably would’ve gotten tossed out of the house too!

This reminds be of a recent “Baby Blues” comic with making a huge mess in the room over killing a fly.

This is the same way I help my cat hunt mice that get in the house. We do NOT give up until it is dead. If I have to move furniture, that’s what I do. You CANNOT let a mouse take up residence in your house.
