“I silently read the teacher’s instructions to read the class the article concerning the man who was chosen to lead the parade to the lead mine.”
After I learned Spanish (not fluently), I realized how odd English could seem to a non-native speaker; from a Spanish point of view the words tough, rough, trough, though, through (and maybe thorough) should all rhyme.

Another example of why I hate English spelling.
There should be two words: stingy and stingey.
Better yet, after I’m made King of England, I’ll change all soft G’s to J’s.
And don’t get me started on “read” and “lead”.

pschearer: “stingee” would work too. Do you mean “red” and “led”? How about Gnu?
