With Rory as his instructor, the new intern doesn’t stand much of a chance.

Euphemism is wasted on the young.

Rory’s a literal kind of guy…..detailed instructions must be given….

“Get his feet wet; help him put his nose to the grindstone; show him how the gears of business work…”

Rory was about to show him the knotts, and ins and outs of the business ties

there’s gotta be a joke about bell ringers here somewhere, but I can’t quite get it

To which Rory replies: “I’m a frayed knot.”

Holy Houdini, Batman!

You’re literally showing him the ropes. Now show him how to work.
