All of this begs the question “Why isn’t October the 8th month?” Glad you asked … the old Roman calendar started in March & October WAS the 8th month … until 153 BCE, when the old Roman senate decided to start the new year in January … ergo, Oct, Nov, & Dec. (8, 9, 10) became (10, 11, 12) …!
