He worked hard getting himself just right to jump on the captain’s bed, he won’t let a little sea water ruin his work!

It’s really sticky mud, it would take soap to dissolve it out of his fur.

It’s all about the mud

Well, in the second frame he was swimming in a black sea!

In physics that can be explained as water saturation point. As in panel 2 the water is already 100% saturated with mud that the water turns black, it can’t even dissolve or absorb one micro speck of Louie’s dirt.

I hope he is still smiling when the bathtub comes out!!!

If the water doesn’t rinse Louie any cleaner… it isn’t clean water.

Hmmm or maybeeee, Louie really secretly loves baths, but doesn’t want to get kicked out of the Dogs Against Bathing society.

And Retrievers, whether they be Labradors, Goldens, Chesapeakes, or Newfoundlands, all love the water and their humans so much that they will walk `100 yards out of the water and shake off in front of you to share the experience. I know.
