Your eyes are OK Biz. It’s the rest of the world that is out of focus and in need of readjustment. But your eyes are indeed OK.

My state basically does that. If one is over age XX and has any kind of accident, they require that you relinquish your license. You can get another license, after a year. But you have to pass the same requirements (rules, driving test) that a 16-year-old would.

“Dad just drove through the bank drive thru teller. Except they didn’t have one. But we just can’t take his license away – it would kill him!” Uh… What about everybody else, hmm?

The doctor ‘took’ my MIL’s license away. She was not happy but accepted it when I reminded her she could cause a fatal accident and after the law suit, there would not be any inheritance left for her only grandchild. She understood the situation and never drove thereafter.

had a relative who was declared legally blind by state, and even given seeing eye dog by the state…and the state of Florida also let her keep her driver’s license…she’d literally drive to store, park in handicapped space and get out with seeing eye dog and dark glasses (on her, not the dog)

That would make it awkward for the valet to park your car.

I had been wearing glasses since high school, and bifocals since my late 20’s. Miraculously, during my early 60’s my eyes changed so that I could pass my state’s driver eye exam without glasses. Still needed readers.

Prescription windshields could reduce car thefts, but would increase the number of wrecked stolen cars.
