“Meet me where I’m at” is another way of saying “Don’t teach me because it’ll momentarily cause me to feel ‘wrong’ and that’s a very very bad thing.”
In addition to math lessons, the student needs grammar lessons. Where you are, is where “you’re at.” Someday maybe English will quit using contractions which just mess up the language.
