When planting, first they sleep, then they creep, then they leap. Third year’s the charm.

When it rains, does it become a stick in the mud?

The $70 cherry tree that was five feet tall when I planted it in 2013 got to be eight feet tall in 2021 then started to die at the top and sprout a sucker from the bottom so I cut off the top and used the stump as a support for the sucker which is now almost three feet high. More news as it happens.

My daughter brought a Birch “stick” home from school for Arbor day one year. It looked like a pencil. So to make her happy we planted it. I thought it would die pretty quick. Nope. I’ve got a large Birch tree in my front yard now.
