When I was a child and we had a wading pool we were not allowed in it without adult supervision so we did not drown – and I was 8 or 9 years old – about Katy’s age.
We were told that one can drown in just a couple of inches of water if one is face down in the water and can’t get up. (No I was never so fat that I could not get up, but what if one hit their head and knocked themselves out – other than the fat comment, these came comments and warnings came from my parents and grandparents.)

When fun becomes too much work it’s time to quit funning around and take a nap.
