Carmen, you’re Libertarian; picking up trash would be useful and a help to society in general and thus prohibited by Libertarian philosophy.
I like the joke, and how it extends. Opportunity wasted to show the work crew (estimated size: three), or give them a line (“Those guys got to choose first.”). They’re in the room, but might as well be completely offstage.
