Back in the late 1960’s my mother would give me $2 so I could go to the Cub game. This paid for my bleacher ticket and bus fare and there was still a little money left over for me. My mother told me years later that it was worth the 2 bucks to get me out of the house and away from her for the whole afternoon.
It looks like the game is between the Cardinals and the Dodgers. Most sons (and daughters) root for the same team as their dad does. The hats make it clear that Norm and his dad are rooting for different teams. Is Norm a closet rebel? Hmm.
On the subject of cost, the plumber finally said he could come and was on his way. But he was making sure I could pay and he told me $165 plus parts. I told him no thanks. I knew another plumber who charged less but I was giving this man a chance to get paid for something he didn’t finish but was nice enough not to charge me for. And if you’re wondering what this is about, read the comments with last week’s Drabble. This is still going to cost me over $100 but I don’t feel I could do it myself.

I think today, peanuts and Cracker Jack would cost between $50 and $100.

As long as you keep going—you can’t blame them for being willing to fleece you.

$25 for Peanuts?
At that price, you should get the whole newspaper.

Why go to a game when you can watch it on your cell phone?

It would be cheaper to grow, and roast your own peanuts.

Many years ago, we went to our pro teams games and took our own drinks and snacks.
