I’m confused by “make up date.” Is that a date to make up for a missed date, or a date to make up after a break up? Of course it could be a make up your mind whether to date, date.
I don’t want to know if it’s a date to wear each other’s make up.
Not showing up in all forms, from being late to not there at all is a sign of disrespect. My ex was always several minutes late to get ready for concerts and other things so much that we would always have to wait outside for intermission.
This happened to a young woman I worked with many years ago. She wasn’t particularly attractive, and when she met this guy she was really excited. All of us co-workers recognized that the guy was hardly any sort of prize: not necessarily “bad”, but certainly a real deadbeat. She kept telling us her excuses for him not showing up to things: he forgot, he overslept, his car broke down, etc. etc. Shortly thereafter she moved on to another job and he was supposed to come to her going away party, but didn’t make it there either. A few days later he called our work, looking for her, saying he hadn’t shown up before because he had been in jail! I was happy to tell him that I (honestly) did not know her forwarding address etc. I don’t know what ever became of this “relationship”, but I sure hope it was nothing. But despite her apparently dodging a bullet, we still felt bad for her.
Hi John. I enjoyed today’s comic, but I hope you don’t mind my asking. I know Kimmy but I don’t believe I’ve seen this other character before as I read WD daily. Is she new? Or has she appeared in a pervious strip? TIA.

The perspective on these frames made me think this was some kind of retro strip, when they were kids.

Can’t decide if she’s really naive or just really unfortunate in love.

I think her thought process is dated.
