Do novels really go out of print, in this age of electronic books?

Why isn’t her book listed below, with a “BUY NOW!” label? What a missed opportunity!

Hey, he’s a published author, I would take that anytime. The book also being popular would be just so much icing on the cake…

Nothing like a good loser and he is nothing like a good loser….

One can’t blame Adam for being bummed but he DOES seem to be at least trying to stay cool.

Face it Adam, somes got it, somes don’t. But when you get outed by a story called The Wretched Turnip, you really have to question your career choices.

Books still under copyright but out of print can be incredibly difficult to find on the Web. It’s illegal to post them, and publishers don’t keep track of what books they’ve published for very long, so it’s difficult to get permission. They don’t even have copies of all the books they’ve published. Most 20th Century books exist in this frustrating limbo.

You can find classic foreign-language novels often in electronic form for free, but try finding a modern translation—bloody near impossible. I’m speaking from my own experience as an anthology editor and literature professor.
