I thought the common sense zone was a myth. No one knows where it is, or how to get there? Do you need that special compass from the Pirates of the Carribbean movies to find your hearts desire in order to locate it?
I was a teenager during the mid â60s/early â70s. We were so preoccupied with âindividualityâ we couldnât see straight. Do your own thing; be free; no one can tell you whatâs what, etc., etc., ad nauseum. It wasnât great, especially given the fruits of that time. But this fever to âidentifyâ as SOMEthing is stupefying. To become âUSâ so we can know who âTHEMâ is so we can go to the mattresses of words of hate agin âem. To seal your mind and your soul, or whatever you call what makes you YOU, in the concrete of an identification is counter to life which is, by one definition, change in the interest of growth. Iâm not opposed to personal boundaries of mind and person; am all for the constraints of ethics, courtesy, respect and decency. But the straitjacket of an âidentificationâ constructed by others is anathema to me.

I think the âcommon sense zoneâ is just another aspect of the Dunning â Kruger Effect.
Those least likely to have âcommon senseâ are the most likely to invoke it.
Itâs just common sense, donât cha no! ăĄ

Doesnât Winslow, being the liberal, need a passport to enter the state of common sense?
