I spent about an hour yesterday talking to an itinerant guitar player on a pier. He was adamantly opposed to drugs and had some interesting stories to tell. He had once seen a UFO flashing multi-colored lights above Santa Cruz. He knew better than to report it but it got him to thinking about all kinds of conspiracies. He had wasted a lot of time listening to radio programs about all kinds of unsupported but barely plausible conspiracy theories.

Most conspiracy theories involve massive secret organizations and neglect Benjamin Franklin’s famous axiom: “Three may keep a secret if two are dead.”

And the aliens replaced all our birds with spy bots, too.
