Love those beautiful proposals that obviously required lots of thought and preparation. My gentleman friend and I had been dating for about a year and we were driving down the road when he said that maybe we out to get married. I asked him if this was a proposal and he said it was. I told him that my answer was yes. We had a very small wedding with family present. That was over 40 years ago and we are still happily together.
Back in high school I was going to ask a girl to the prom when her girlfriend (obviously prompted to do this) to me that the girl didn’t yet have a date and would go with anyone who asked her. My thought was if I was just anyone to her it wouldn’t be special. So I walked away without saying anything. I regret doing that even after 50 years.
