thistles are also food for the caterpillars of Painted Lady butterflies!

One of nature’s greatest ironies is that the sweetest honey comes from two types of insects and plants (bees and thistles) that don’t like people around and try to sting them.

Love this. Starts our day out just right. Little gardener is so nice.

Thistle seed is favored by several birds also. I’ll let them grown in the corners of the yard.

Weeds. Like Polk.

I’ve got a 4’ (and growing) thistle growing by my mailbox. I want to see how tall it gets.
