A father-son bonding experience in a beautiful nature setting far away from the busy city. Just two big smiles and two hearts filled with warmth. Awe inspiring!
Something I missed, sadly. Dad died when I was just 6 months old. However, for her figure and her health, Mother walked daily. So did her second-eldest sister. Between the two of them, they got me up and walking (actually, running) at 9.5 months, and I never looked back to see who was falling off the pace. By the time I was a year old, Mother wrote in my baby book “He is a quick-silver personality who hates autocracy, but can be ruled with reason. However, he is a very active child, and 5 minutes of watching him tires me out.” ;^)
As a result of that “tires me out”, she assigned my 7-year-older brother to baby-sit me. Brother learned patience, and I learned to mind since he insisted on autocracy (within reason). We both benefited from the arrangement.

Walking long serene stretches with that inquisite child can be tiresome but worth every step.
