Cats leave dead animals in front of kittens to teach them to hunt, as far as cats are concerned humans are very large, very stupid kittens.
We have a newer house now, very few mouse deposits, of all varieties. But the cats do expect praise and pets and I’m glad to give them.
I have 3 cats. No mice here.
She left the barely alive bird by the fireplace for Santa.
My neutered cat brought home a pregnant pal who had her kittens in our bed while we were at work. Top that!
When I was 11 or 12, my cat Misty left a live mouse in my hair while I slept . . . and woke me by playing with a dead bird by my feet, which she proceeded to eat on my bed. It was a wild morning.
Lennie, if you’d have gotten your spit together and learned to hunt mice, she wouldn’t have had to feed you!
