Can anyone think of a better way to handle the scene? I think Divine Justice is fine! Better than the Sultan being murdered by someone in his own extended family, which has actually happened in the recent generation in even the good old U.S.A. The Bible tells of a loathsome king who lost the fear his children had of him by his losing a battle against Most-High-God worshippers; so one of his sons killed him when he went home. And the nastier types still lose their lives when just about anything goes wrong, and their families hatred of them comes out of the closet, with their own family killing them. This nastier way, of humans killing evil family members, went way down once worship of The-One-Living-God, The-Doer-Of-Miracles took over in Europe and the Mid-East and the New World; but it still occurs. I prefer Divine Judgement without humans trying to act like God. This story line works.
Especially as Rover is crying in the last panel over the death, even as he realizes the godsend this is for him.
