G. Tarantella - Gay Tarantella - get it? “When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie”

“…that’s amore!” I wonder if this painting is supposed to be an unknown masterpiece or something…I actually did a search on Tarantella and everything was about music as opposed to painting.

“He’s tattooed and tan, he’s a New Zealand man, that’s a Maori!”

Wikipedia had nothing on an artist named Tarantella. I’m betting it’s some kind of weird anagram for Jim Scancarelli. Or an ancestor of his.

The Tarantella is a dance, of course - supposedly what someone did if bitten by a tarantula, though whether under the venom’s influence, or because you might as well have one last dance before you die, I don’t know - not a lot of relevance to this storyline - it’s just a sort of funny, Italian-sounding name for an ‘artist’ -

I can never understand those scribblings either but how do you know that’s the date, maybe it’s some kind of the artist’s code. We should call Dan Brown. LOL
