In many of not most cases using the UNSUBSCRIBE link in spam mail just puts you on a spam mailing list as a validated number and/or address, then shared or more likely sold to others.
Never unsubscribe to spam. Just dispose of (or if using email like Yahoo click on the “MARK AS SPAM” link).
