Why would anyone leave the country just because Republican Roulette is when you send your kids to school?
And we have death threats directed at school board members?
And people trying to kill FBI employees?
And an ex president who believes it is his right to keep material classified at the highest levels at his house to do whatever the hell he wants with it? And a political party that agrees that it is his right?
I have a number of friends leaving the country for retirement. Part of it is cost of living (I’m in San Diego) but part of it is definitely how the rightwing media and Republicans have poisoned our politics and political discourse. I fully appreciate their reasoning.
The evidence I have seen, both from personal experience and anecdotal/news reporting, is that left-wingers of means and that are covered by the news media blather and threaten a lot about emigrating if some right-winger/Trump was elected president (See: Michael Moore, Alec Baldwin, Barbra Streisand, Amy Schumer, Cher, Bryan Cranston, Lena Dunham, etc.), while right-wingers of means just shut up and DO it.
Or, more accurately, the right-wingers move themselves AND their companies out of “blue states” and into “red states.”
I personally know three “lefties” that made firm plans to emigrate for “political” reasons, with the realistic means to do so. Two of them canceled when they discovered how much other countries with great “cradle to grave” social-care programs charge prospective immigrants in fees to make up for a lifetime of not paying high taxes for those programs. The third was a tech multimillionaire who fled to the Isle of Man, ostensibly for tax purposes but also because his terminally ill wife wanted to spend her last years someplace prettier….

Is there any truth to this or is it just nonsense? Seriously.

As I read todays strip, one thing sticks out. Where is the joke? Looks like a panel was missed, because panel #3 makes no sense at all

We may see what happens when the nominee of a major party runs for President…
…from prison.
