One of my therapists once suggested gluing the pages of my journal together after writing on them. That way, she reasoned, I could get the feelings out and contain them safely. I never actually did it. As unmotivated as I was to write down things that would make me cringe upon rereading, the perception of wasting paper was just as hard to overcome.

Miraculously surviving an extra gruesome abducted hiker/wildfire/shark attack sounds pretty newsworthy, wouldn’t you say?

I hope someone reads my journals when I die. I have nothing to hide.

My therapist advised me to write letters to the people whom I despise and burn them. I did, but I don’t know what to do about the letters.
