Huh, 2010 and there was talk about the wall …

Funny thing is, even knowing that these are all reruns, I assumed the satire here had to do with Donald Trump, and his plans for a border wall.

Then I realised … today’s strip ran in 2010, halfway through Barack Obama’s first term.

There was already controversy about walls, mostly fencing, along the US-Mexico border, with some sections being built under George W Bush, and some construction being halted under Obama, but AFAIK, not yet a word from Trump..

IN fact, Rick Perry, then the Republican governor of Texas, came out strongly AGAINST a border wall (though he later had a post under Trump.)

In any case, Conley was writing this about five years before Trump ever mentioned a wall, so it isn’t about him.

The use of language in this strip never lets us down! Absolutely brilliant and definitely my first LOL of the day.

It is the legal ignorants that cause most of the problems. :)
