Just checking. Making sure that you’re faithful.

A dog’s nose always knows.

My husband went to a farm to get composted cow manure for our garden. While there, he went into the dairy barn to see the milking. When he came home, our English Cocker practically hyperventilated from sniffing all the new smells on hubby.

We would have to go through this ritual with our beagle every time we returned from an outing. We called it “the sniff-down”.

I volunteer at a shelter and our dog puts me through this as I first get home from working there. We got her from that shelter, so perhaps she is just reading the alumni newsletter.

Our dogs would do that to us. We’d visit some friends across town who had dogs and when we’d get home our pups would just about vacuum us off sniffing our clothes for scents of their dog.

My daughter and her husband got a dog recently. I live close by so I’ll go over during the day and let the dog out to do his business and just play with him a bit before they get home. I always get the sniff test when I get home from my own dog.

My dogs act like I committed a crime if I look at another pet

My cats do the same thing when I get home if I’ve been around dogs! :)
