Growing up we used to camp in an area that was a Shoshone camp way back when. Loved the area. After adulthood I went back some 30 years later. The trees were rapidly growing over what was the marsh and clearing that was the central grounds. Two years ago I took my then 6YO son to the place. All there was was trees, no more marsh, No meadow, no camp ground. Just 30 to 50 ft tall pines. Sad to see it gone but pleasant to see the change and trees not clear cut.

Out here in the Valley, I believe it is two trees planted for every one they cut down when clearing a building lot.

We don’t have the problem. Much of what was once farm land was replanted in pine trees for pulp wood. Everybody wins.
