    There’s 4.5 to 4.9 billion tons of salt in the lake (http://ut.water.usgs.gov/greatsaltlake/)

    About 40% of the mass would be from sodium, that’s 1.8*10^18 expressed in milligrams.

    In college, I went on a low sodium kick because it was the in thing. After about 6 months, I started getting muscle twinges. Blood tests revealed sodium deficiency as the cause. Apparently, when you play soccer in southern CA, you need more sodium. So take all these health fads with a grain of salt …

    all that salt is from tourists sweat in the summer it is 115 or more degrees during the day
