So in this story arc, Bub tried hiking. He didnât enjoy it. He obviously spent some time bothered by that, knowing that Betty enjoyed it and would want to do it again. He opens up to her about how he honestly feels about the matter, and she just tries to pressure and guilt him into âenjoyingâ it. I guess on some distant planet this is considered a punchline or funny, but it REALLY puts Betty in a nasty light. Bub did no wrong in this encounter, and sheâs just heaping it on. Bad Betty, Bad! Junior, get me the rolled up newspaperâŠ
I donât know, the strip is named Betty, not Bub. I think sheâs very patient with this guy who doesnât seem to know a whole lot about anything. Not sure why sheâs always being picked on in comments.
My ex-wife used to complain that our vacations were exhausting. I work 6 am to 6 pm at a desk job, the only time I get to to out and see the world is on vacation. Summited Kilimanjaro twice, still planning on a 3rd (Iâm now 63).
IDK why everyone who disagrees with Bettyâs approach calls her evil for wanting her husband to be around for longer than he would be if he remained sedentary.

OMG she is THE worst! I wish sheâd take a happy trail alone and stumble off a cliff.

Solution: separate vacations.

He never is seen at work. Junior is never shown as a latch-key kid. I would say cartoon-character is the easiest gig in the world.

He needs to get away from her for longer than just a vacation. They are just too dissimilar to be together.

Unlike most of the posters, I am with Betty. Unhealthy, overweight Bud is the epitome of too many people whom I know.

Just received a catalog from a boot company and one of the hiking boots is called âBettyâ. Happy trails!

I just wonder why some people read this comics if all they do is vent against Betty.
