When my mother turned 90, in 2016, we made a small party for her at her favorite kosher deli (at her request; she didn’t want a big overblown affair). The worst teasing we did was a spontaneous recitation (done with love) of the many expressions we heard repeated again and again when we were growing up.
I know my children are planning the same for me, and I’m not sure they’re going to wait for me to hit 90.
