    Over the top is correct.

Although I prefer over the top, I wouldn’t think the toilet paper itself would care, considering that it gets treated the same either way.

If it’s there when you need it, it’s correct.

Making contact with the wall is gross. Over the top, please.

Depends if you have a kitten or a cat that is still in the shredding toilet paper stage of life.

check out the actual toilet paper patent…over the top it is…. Patent No. 465,588, dated December 22, 1891. Application filed June 8, 1891- Serial No. 395.473.

According to the guy who invented the roll for toilet paper – the answer is OVER – —- According to Google Patents, drawings filed by Wheeler back in 1891 show rolls of toilet paper hanging over — not under.

For some it depends on if the paper has a design printed on it…

Any design is printed on the outside, which means that you don’t see the design if you hang the paper over the back. I told my son about hanging the paper over the back for little kids (something my father insisted on), but he says that his 15-month-old son just picks at the edge of the paper so that it looks like it was chewed by an animal.

Worse yet was when there weren’t rolls, rather small sheets dispensed separately.

It doesn’t matter to me either way, as long as it’s on the roller when I need it….
