Cagney sums it up very well — a real snoozer!

All stories relevant to man are based on “a true story”, certain aspects of which have been modified, fast horse, horse could fly, horse with wings, horse with wings and teeth that could eat a man, horse that breathed fire, flying horse of enormous size that could breathe fire, eat men and terrorize villages, dragons. It is the same with any story with words you can read, they are all based on some story that was true, if many times removed from the truth.

Fly away home, about a girl named Amy who found goose eggs, hatched, raised them and led them to a sanctuary when it was time to migrate, was based loosely on a story about a man who found abandoned goose eggs, raised and ate them. The part with Amy leading them through the city while a man on the radio talks about how he likes to cook his goose is very telling.. Oddly, I learned it from an old science magazine.
