Nice and warm this morning at 14 degrees. (^.^) A mix of sun and clouds this morning, snow showers possible this afternoon, high of 25 is expected.
I’m a fella who expects snow on the ground at Christmas, New Years and my birthday. I think it was the late dubble 0s I was out on December 26 and there was no snow to be seen any where. I went over to the Littleton, NH Walmart and found one of to items I wanted, then, I took US 302 over to the Mountpelier, VT Walmart and found the other. I really got around that day.
OK David, Presiding Elder? Is that the same as Lay Leader? We went to a meeting to discuss the prospect of going with the Global Methodist Church, but, we decided stay put, we have an understanding with The New England Annual Conference that works for us.
OK, Vagabonds have a wonerful gay, and may the Lord bless your day.
It’s another beautiful day in the neighborhood. The sun’s out and I can see a very few wispy clouds in the distance along with a jet on the glide path to the airport. (The county recently renamed it after Harry Reid, our “esteemed” senator, but to most of us it is still McCarran, after an earlier senator, Pat McCarran. Even the signs for the airport still say McCarran.) It’s supposed to get up to 50 today, same as yesterday. It’s 42 at the moment. I know that’s almost warm for the rest of you at this time of year, but for us that’s cold.
I did go out and get some rope lights for the patio rails. It sure lights up the area behind us! I only bought one set to see how it would look, so I need to go back to get another one and hope they aren’t out of red. It would look a bit weird to have one side red and the other side something else.
I’m off to prayer group this morning and will run a couple of errands on the way home (see the above paragraph). Other than that, there’s not much on my agenda for today. We will finish up the decorations and then sit down with a cup of hot apple cider and watch a Christmas movie.
We saw a 1938 version of “A Christmas Carol” the other day with Reginald Owen as Scrooge, Leo G Carroll as Marley’s ghost and Gene Lockhart as Bob Cratchit. In fact, Gene’s whole family got into the act. His wife played Mrs. Cratchit and his daughter June was one of the Cratchit children. Does anyone remember what June Lockhart was most famous for?
Everyone have a safe and blessed day and a glorious Christmas season.
Timmy Martin’s mother on “Lassie”, Maureen Robinson on “Lost in Space”.
One of the best rolls I’ve seen her in was an episode of the original “Magnum PI” in which she plays the widow of a VIP and her daughter Anne plays the same character at Pearl Harbor in 1941. Mother and daughter did a very good job with this.
we dragged out some of our favorite Christmas movies starting with ’we’re no angels’ and ‘holiday inn’ , ‘going my way’ and ending with ‘white christmas’ on Christmas eve. we have a bunch more, but it hurts to type.
