Ya know, you can’t really blame Alice for her fits of disappointment and frustrations; she really tries to be a joyous and enthusiastic kid in various situations, but usually winds up with a look of anger and discontent indicating another letdown.
When I was a kid and my dad wanted help putting up the Christmas lights, it was becauze he needed someone on the ground untangling them and handing them up to him so he wouldn’t have to do that on top of the ladder and risk falling down. When I was a teenager, he admitted he had a bit of a fear of heights and we switched places, but it was still a two-man job. If he had insisted I come outside to help with something he then did entirely by himself, leaving me just sitting out in the cold for no reazon, like Petey’s dad just did to him, I’d have been kind of piśśed off.

The enthusiasm from Petey is underwhelming.

Too few lights to lead Santa to this house on Christmas Eve, with weird kids anyway.

Daddy doesn’t seem to be the brightest bulb in the bunch.

That Bush looks sadder than George W.’s approval ratings in his second term…I know, too soon.

Who needs Christmas lights on the house, when you have mom’s Christmas Sweater?

Stark contrast between Alice and Petey. Not sure Peter has done as good a job as he preaches….
