I adopted a terrier while I was pregnant. I couldn’t control him at all and with my baby due in a couple weeks, there was no way I could deal with him and the baby. I unfortunately had to return him. I felt so bad, he was a cute dog.
A friend gave one of her dachsi/terrier pups to a co-worker for his wife. He had a dobie and a Rottweiler. The two dogs weren’t vicious, just tease push around or just ignore it. He came home for lunch one rainy day to hear godawful screaming from the backyard. He thought that was it for the pup. Well, apparently the pup had had enough of the bigger dogs’ bullying. The dobie was up on the woodpile, shaking, the Rottweiler was tearing around the yard with the little pup latched onto the family jewels. They got along fine after that.

Fred, you can ALWAYS tell a terrier, but you can’t tell them much!

Those little guys never understand their size. Physically small. Attitude enormous and scrappy enough to take on the world.
