What’s the spoked wheel with the bulb on top?

I see the uncomprehending look in the face of some young people when I mention comic strips

If they respond at all they start to talk about comic books, which they don’t bother to read either because now there are superhero movies

Flying cars! They’ve been predicting those things for a hundred years and still nothing.

And the scary part is that we’re now about half-way to 2047 from when this strip first ran.

I just wrote cursive in my nephew’s (16th) birthday card. I’m certain he won’t be able to read it…
